About Me
I am an illustrator and paper cut artist based in Norwich and I graduated from Norwich University of the Arts in 2021 with a BA (Hons) in Illustration.
Paper cutting is a meditative process in its slowness and intricacies, and the most important part of designing a paper-cut piece is making sure it all connects up.
My main inspirations for my paper-cut work come from fairytale and folk art paper-cuts, some of my favourites are the paper-cuts by Hans Christian Anderson and Lotte Reiniger. Recently, my work has taken inspiration from stained glass windows, manuscripts, plants and water.
As well as paper-cutting, my practice includes illustrated, narrative poetry.
I have recently worked with Pavilion Books under HarperCollins publishers illustrating the cookbook ‘IT Starts With Veg’ by Ceri Jones. For the project I created 40 paper cut illustrations of different vegetables to go alongside the sections of the book.
I’m open to enquiries for editorial and publishing illustration work, as well as other commissions that my work might be a good fit for.
As well as freelancing, I co-run Tulips and Heather shop with my partner Maya where we make and sell prints, stationery, zines and other paper goods operating here online as well as at local makers markets in Norwich.
